Chapter Chapter 9 in Supplier relationship management, 2014, pp 143-155 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In our experience, companies often overfocus on elaborate IT tools that are not needed and consume considerable investment resources and management time to implement. It is crucial to consider the basic objectives of an IT implementation before going down that path. The IT tools are there to support the business needs and supplier relationship management. They are not an end in themselves and should not be seen as a substitute for face-to-face and other personal dialogue both with the supplier and internally.
