Abstract:
Abstract Tacoma, WA, was instrumental in creating a regional law enforcement agency, the Law Enforcement Activity and Data System (LEADS) program. It employed a state-of-the-art information management system that integrates law enforcement, the jail, courts, prosecutors, and state repositories while conserving resources. Through technology development, LEADS allows officers to be more effective through both the reduction of time-consuming administrative tasks and by significantly increasing access to critical information for investigations and community awareness.
