Chapter 2 in Equations with Involutive Operators, 2001, pp 51-109 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter is devoted to Fredholmness of somewhat less familiar types of operators: those with homogeneous kernels in the one-dimensional case (Section 5) and in the multidimensional case (Section 6), and operators of convolution type with discontinuous symbols (Section 7). We call special attention to Section 7, where we present an approach based on usage of the operators of fractional integration and differentiation to construct the factorization of operators with a discontinuous symbol in direct and effective terms.
