Abstract: Abstract Besides measuring and excluding probabilities, the problem of comparing different probabilities, or, more generally said, alternatives, is a frequently occurring task in a variety of fields. In this chapter, it is shown how a comparison procedure can be designed using the tables on the CD-ROM. Similar to that in the case of exclusion procedures, the resulting methods are optimal or nearly optimal with respect to success probability. Additionally, they are, in a certain sense, also optimal with respect to reliability. The determination is comparatively simple, as the corresponding prediction regions can be taken directly from the tables as soon as the set of input parameters is specified.
