Chapter Chapter 23 in Ramanujan’s Notebooks, 1994, pp 51-110 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Ramanujan’s strong interest in number theory probably commenced no more than one or two years before his first letter to G. H. Hardy. Most of the results on number theory found in the notebooks lie in the 100 unorganized pages at the end of the second notebook and in the short third notebook consisting of 33 pages. Most of the material on these 133 pages was probably recorded in approximately the years 1912-1914, before Ramanujan departed for Cambridge. However, there is some evidence, especially from the material on number theory, that several entries in the third notebook were recorded in England.
