Chapter 8 in Geometry of Curves and Surfaces with MAPLE, 2000, pp 79-94 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Section 8.1 is a short introduction to the basic MAPLE support for plotting space curves using various coordinate systems. Section 8.2 is devoted to helix type curves lying on a cylinder, a sphere, a torus and other surfaces of revolution. In Section 8.3 we study remarkable MAPLE strategies for producing splendid views (of three-dimensional objects) with coloring, shadows and moving. We plot curves that are intersections of two surfaces: the Viviani curve, bicylindrical curves, and solutions of Euler’s equations from mechanics. In the final Section 8.4, we deal with vector fields and their trajectories in space (see Section 5.4 for two-dimensional case).
