A chapter in The Matlab® 5 Handbook, 1998, pp 446-457 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Matlab allows you to write programs in both the traditional, procedural manner and in the newer, object-oriented style. The object-oriented syntax in Matlab is not dissimilar to languages such as C++, but naturally it is much easier to use and is well integrated into the rest of the Matlab language.
