A chapter in The Matlab® 5 Handbook, 1998, pp 76-84 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter examines solving non-linear equations. The three Matlab functions covered are: roots finds all roots of a single polynomial, $$f\left( x \right) = \sum\nolimits_{i = 0}^n {a_i x^i }$$ . fzero finds one root of a single function in one variable, f(x). fsolve finds one root of one or more functions in one or more variables,fi(xj).
