Abstract:
Abstract Approximate confidence intervals for individual variances in unbalanced two-way crossed component-of-variance model with interaction and with missing data are derived. A Monte-Carlo study was conducted to evaluate the proposed procedure for several design configurations with and without missing cells. For the case of non-missing cells a competitor exists (Khuri and Littell (1987)). The estimated power for σ A 2 > 0 when testing Ho:σ A 2 = 0 for α =.05 was compared with the test derived by Khuri and Littell for “highly unbalanced” and “near balanced” designs.
