Chapter 1 in Fundamental Solutions for Differential Operators and Applications, 1996, pp 11-36 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract We will discuss some basic concepts and results from the theory of Green’s functions, functionals and distributions. Proofs for most of the results can be easily found in the literature. References that were mostly used have been cited. The mathematical concept of fundamental solutions for a general differential operator is defined and explained before specific operators, equations and applications are considered.
