Abstract:
Abstract The problem of degeneration in ordinal SSA is discussed. A degenerate solution is a partial or global misrepresentation of the data in which the loss criterion is almost equal to zero. The conditions for such solutions are investigated. Some suggestions for avoidance of degeneracies are made.
