Chapter Chapter III in Theory of Operator Algebras I, 1979, pp 101-180 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract We study the conjugate space of a C*-algebra as a Banach space. In this chapter, we will see that a C*-algebra behaves, as a Banach space, like the space of continuous functions on a compact space, and its conjugate space looks like the L1-space on a measure space.
