Abstract:
Abstract Chebyshev is regarded as the founder of the St. Petersburg School of mathematics, which encompassed path-breaking work in probability theory. The Chebyshev Inequality carries his name; he intitiated rigorous work on a general version of the Central Limit Theorem.
