Abstract: Abstract A mathematical model describing a chloralkali-electrolysis in membrane cells including unusual flow pattern is presented. This paper discusses several influences like chemical reactions in the anolyte compartment, the behavior of a membrane during electrolysis and some other details which have to be taken into consideration.
