Chapter Chapter 2 in General Topology and Homotopy Theory, 1984, pp 31-66 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In this chapter I have tried to summarize that part of general topology which is directly relevant to what we are going to do later. Of course there is hardly anything which cannot be found in the standard texts. However by selecting only the relevant material and omitting everything else I believe it is possible to give a clearer picture of this part of the subject, at least from the point of view I have adopted.
