A chapter in International Mathematical Congresses, 1987, pp 36-37 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The sixth post-war international congress of mathematicians, held in Nice at the beginning of September 1970, was the third to take place in France — a number not to be equaled by any other country until this year when, at Berkeley, the United States hosts its third congress. The 94-year-old Paul Montel, as Honorary President, joined the company of Hermite and Jordan, who had been so honored at earlier French congresses.
