Abstract:
Abstract A software system is a collection of information. A structural model for software systems relates the information content of the system to perhaps abstract metrics characterizing the software system. It is proposed that one basis for structural models of software systems is the data models of data base management technology. This paper describes software systems from the viewpoint of defining a structural model as a schema in a data model. A proposed representation for some aspects of software systems is sketched.
