Abstract: Abstract This chapter explores a system where the service discipline is preemptive priority. The system has one-server, infinite capacity, exponential inter-arrival times and arbitrary service times. An example is a clinic where some patients need immediate emergency treatment and others do not. The emergency patients override the non-emergency patients. The probability on n units, and the basic performance measures of the system are developed. Examples are presented.
