Abstract:
Abstract Laplace's equation, the diffusion equation, and the wave equation are solved in two dimensions for a variety of boundary conditions. The equations will be solved in two different coordinate systems: rectangular (x, y) and polar (p, θ;). The latter case involves the properties of Bessel functions that are treated in an Appendix to this chapter.
