A chapter in The Ordered Weighted Averaging Operators, 1997, pp 241-257 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The interpretation of fuzzy quantified statements of the type “Q X are A” (where Q is a fuzzy quantifier and A is a fuzzy predicate) thanks to the OWA operator is the main topic of this paper. A meaning in terms of α-cuts of fuzzy sets is proposed and the relationships between this approach and fuzzy integrals on the one hand and Dempster-Shafer theory on the other hand, is investigated. The use of fuzzy quantified statements for database querying purposes is also illustrated.
