Abstract: Abstract A framework was proposed (Bouchon-Meunier et al. 1996) to classify and to generate measures of comparison. It is based on concepts analogous to those developed by Tversky for his contrast model (Tversky 1977) (Suppes et al. 1990). This framework distinguishes, in the set of measures of comparison, measures of similitude and measures of dissimilarity. A measure of similitude can, in particular, depend on its use and thus on required properties.
