Abstract Several investigators have used cultured Y-l mouse adrenal tumor cells as a model to study the action of the pituitary hormone adrenocorticotropin (ACTH) in controlling glucocorticoid synthesis (Kowal, 1970; Mrotek and Hall, 1975, 1977, 1978).
