Chapter 7 in Cell and Muscle Motility, 1982, pp 85-92 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Microtubules are a consistent feature of adult mammalian cardiac muscle and slow skeletal muscle. They form a network around and between the myofilament bundles (Goldstein and Entman, 1979). In longitudinal sections, the microtubules are seen in longitudinal profile over the myofibrils in grazing sections where the sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) is seen, and between the myofibrils. In cross sections at various levels, microtubules are seen in crosssectional view.
