Chapter 1 in Time-Varying Systems and Computations, 1998, pp 1-15 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Two disciplines play a major role in this book. The first is linear algebra, which provides the setting for the derivation of efficient algorithms to do basic matrix calculations. The second is linear time-varying system theory, whose concepts we use to treat and analyze a large class of basic algorithms in a more general setting. In this introduction we explore important links between the two theories and show how linear time-varying system theory can be used to solve problems in linear algebra.
