Abstract:
Abstract Complex multiplication is not well understood beyond the classical case of one (complex) dimension, where highly developed independent approaches exist through algebra, geometry, and modular function theory. The most immediate prospect for developing a higher dimensional theory is through Hilbert modular functions. Here modular equations are now becoming an appropriate area for computer algebra.
