Chapter 3 in Creating the Future with All Finance and Financial Conglomerates, 1998, pp 35-60 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In chapter 1, we argued that financial conglomerates, all finance, bancassurance and assurfinance can all be seen as ways in which companies in the financial sector implement a strategy of diversification. Mostly this diversification strategy is seen as an interesting way to realise a growth strategy in a mature market environment. However this diversification can also aim at the realisation of a competitive advantage through the exploitation of economies of scope and synergies.
