Getting Involved with Big Data
Peter Kenny
Chapter Chapter 24 in Better Business Decisions from Data, 2014, pp 243-250 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In the previous chapter, we saw that the procedures for extracting information from big data can be quite simple. In contrast, the setting up of computer systems for applying the procedures to large amounts of data in a reliable and rapid manner requires considerable expertise. Following a summary of the potential applications of big data, we will discuss how businesses can become part of this new and exciting development.
