Green Devil Control Systems: Our Business Case

Tom Y. Sawyer

Chapter Chapter 3 in Financial Modeling for Business Owners and Entrepreneurs, 2015, pp 47-54 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In this chapter, we create a business case that will serve as the foundation for the detailed financial model to be developed in the following chapters. Our business case assumes the creation of a startup company. The concepts and approaches derived from a startup business case are directly applicable to companies that are further along their company life cycle. A startup business case also gives us the ability to clearly demonstrate that the achievement of value events changes risk profiles and the cost of acquiring resources. These concepts are easier to understand in a startup context. Building a company from the ground up and—no matter what age your business is—building a financial model from the ground up is a very good exercise in step-by-step business thinking and places the reader into a creative mindset.
