Chapter Chapter 6 in Empower Decision Makers with SAP Analytics Cloud, 2020, pp 155-175 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In Chapter 2 and specifically in item 5 of the section titled “Customer’s Current Landscape and Pain Points,” we discussed how legacy applications hosted on archaic and outdated infrastructure needed perpetual maintenance, causing lack of availability on a regular basis. ABC Inc.’s legacy analytics systems are primarily batch driven and do not provide access to real-time data. Further due to complexity of the landscape, any change or new analytical requirement takes considerable time to respond, and many end users therefore rely on using local solutions and working through their own on MS Excel-based options. Due to the lack of readily available data, these end users have to either defer the decision or rely on past experience, which is often not the best or most effective decision.
