Abstract: Abstract I hope it is crystal clear by now that effectively leading people is not simple. Altruistically facilitating the leadership process is not for the faint of heart. Leaders must support their teams as they strive towards organizational goals while at the same time negotiating the twists and turns of a dynamic business landscape. Servant and adaptive leadership replace the conventional leadership approach, which defaults to telling, directing, and commanding with developing, facilitating, and supporting. However, practicing servant leadership and adaptive leadership does not mean that you never provide directives—doing so would be an abdication of your leadership responsibility.
