Chapter Chapter 11 in Becoming a Leader in Product Development, 2021, pp 231-232 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Leadership is not about you or me. It is about the group and how we move forward together. As such, I have tried to present a different way of understanding and facilitating leadership in the workplace. My goal has not been to tell you everything one could know about leadership because we continue to learn more about the leadership phenomenon. Instead, I am optimistic you have expanded your leadership philosophy with the essential leadership concepts, theories, and practices I have provided. Hopefully, you are now even more motivated to become a more effective leader who studies and practices leader behaviors that foster a workplace where people can thrive as they tackle organizational challenges. Choose behaviors that resonate with you, adapt them to your context, patiently practice them, resist the urge to abandon them when leading or following becomes difficult, and watch what happens to you, those you lead, and the organization at large.
