Perspectives on Power

Peter Wendorff

Chapter Chapter 2 in Politics in Software Development, 2022, pp 11-20 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract As power plays a central role in human life, inside and outside of organizations, it is not surprising that it has been extensively studied and debated for centuries. These efforts have not resulted in a single, generally accepted definition of the concept. Instead, different ways to approach the subject have emerged, which highlight certain aspects of power. This chapter presents some of the theoretical perspectives that are relevant to the study of organizational politics.
