Abstract: Abstract The existence of conflicting goals in organizations is all but inevitable, and for many, there is no easy way to reconcile them. Often there is also no compelling benefit for any stakeholder in addressing the conflicts. Sometimes, the best solution may be to ignore them for the time being, strike an uneasy truce, and “[l]et sleeping dogs lie,” as an old adage goes. This pragmatic approach plays a vital role in organizations because stakeholders need to work together regardless of lingering conflicts. In this chapter, we look at some of the ways this is achieved in practice.
