Hiring

Chapter Chapter 4 in Leadership Paradigms for Remote Agile Development, 2022, pp 61-88 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Behind every great business, there are great people. No matter how automated a business is or to whom you are providing the goods and services, without good people, your business will fail. Competence and incompetence permeate every layer of your organization. From top to bottom. A good teammate can lift everybody up, while a few bad apples have the power to kill every last morsel of passion, enthusiasm, and collaboration. Bad apples will destroy products faster than good people can build them. As such, hiring the right people is self-evident, no matter what industry you are in. But that is easier said than done. As any recruiter can attest to, finding good professionals is difficult, and often the difficulties begin by actually trying to define what a right fit looks like for your business. Hence we begin this chapter with the latter: What do we mean with the “right people”?
