Abstract:
Abstract Leaders motivate people toward a common goal. Leadership can get confused with management, which is about aligning people in the execution of a common goal. They are similar and often overlap. But leaders win people to the cause, motivate them, and keep them motivated. Think of the paladin, who rushes into battle after delivering an inspirational speech (which gives the rest of an adventuring party a bonus to dice rolls). That’s inspiration, a key aspect of leadership. But so is setting up a strategy or organization that is, in itself, inspirational with or without the leader.
