Abstract: Abstract It may appear at first glance that we have settled the main questions regarding numbers. We have a one-to-one correspondence between points on the number line and real numbers. We are familiar with the different kinds of real numbers, and we know all about countable and uncountable sets, with the strange transcendental numbers a handy example of an uncountable set. What more is there?
