Abstract: Abstract In today’s society, global competition has had an extensive impact on both the private and public sector global supply chain security programs. In addition, security professionals who have previously addressed those conventional issues of supply chain security will now need to ensure that they have incorporated resiliency strategies. In this chapter, the concept of creating and using security processes to assure that the global supply chain security resiliency strategies and emerging threats are recognized is introduced. Also, security professionals in all parts of the world will need to assess the risk on many levels, i.e., the uncertainty of the demand for products locally, regionally, and globally. Unfortunately, many companies still lack experienced security professionals capable of developing and implementing a resilient strategy and using preventative risk assessment tools. Finally, since our global supply chains are vulnerable to a variety of international security threats unlike the past, the uncertainties associated with them now require new security innovations and mitigation measures capable of addressing those emerging risks.
