The Correspondence Between Lift-and-Project Cuts and Simple Disjunctive Cuts

Egon Balas

Chapter Chapter 8 in Disjunctive Programming, 2018, pp 97-105 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract From the fact that the constraint set (6.3) of (CGLP)j defines the convex hull of P ∩{x : x j ∈{0, 1}}, and that convP I, the integer hull, can be derived by imposing the disjunctions x j ≤ 0 ∨ x j ≥ 1 sequentially, it follows that any valid cut for a mixed 0-1 program can be represented as a lift-and-project cut.
