Chapter Chapter 15 in Reverberations of a Stroke, 2019, pp 61-62 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract My stroke at age 80 coalesced three critical life events: a life-threatening health crisis; involuntary retirement; and the onset of dreaded old-age infirmities. While each of these circumstances might be inevitable in the long run, they also each carry significant potential to produce a psychological crisis in anyone’s life. In my case, addressing all three at once has been more than a little humbling and often overwhelming. As I reflect back over the two years since my stroke, I see that it has taken virtually all of my energy to navigate and cope with these simultaneous life challenges.
