Chapter Chapter 8 in Reverberations of a Stroke, 2019, pp 27-34 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This week marks the one-year anniversary of my stroke. I have continued on this Earth for one more year and now Feb. 1 feels like another birthday to me. I know very well that it could have gone either way on Feb. 1, 2016. Or for that matter at any point thereafter. Following my stroke, I was told that there was a 26% chance of a second bleed within the first year—which “would probably be fatal”, according to my radiology physician. So I am just happy to be here now, one year later. I feel very lucky.
