Chapter Chapter 10 in Geometry in History, 2019, pp 435-450 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Poincaré is one of the pioneers in non-Euclidean geometry and topology. In this paper, we shall first review his work on non-Euclidean geometry and topology. Then we shall see how his researches in these fields are reflected in his philosophical work, especially his philosophical position often called “conventionalism”.
