Chapter Chapter 10 in Introduction to Queueing Systems with Telecommunication Applications, 2019, pp 421-444 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Up to now, we have overviewed the main methods for the analysis of individual queueing systems. However, the analysis of large telecommunication systems or computer systems executing complex inter-related tasks (e.g., transaction processing systems and web server farms) requires the application of systems models which contain several servers (potentially of different kinds) and the customers are traveling among these servers for consecutive services.
