Abstract:
Abstract In this chapter, begins with a review of GM’s small pre-World War II Barcelona plant, which was captured during the Spanish Civil War in 1936 by anti-fascist forces. The remainder of the chapter examines GM’s Opel Zaragoza, which opened 46 years later. The final section discusses the American automaker’s exit from Spain and Europe via its sale of Opel/Vauxhall to PSA in 2017.
