Chapter Chapter 10 in Understanding Fever and Body Temperature, 2020, pp 161-166 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter will in a problem-based learning approach take the readers into a cross-disciplinary thinking by the use of scenarios from clinical practice. The scenarios will illustrate the consequences which may arise when evaluation of the patient and body temperature measurement is guided by unquestioned routine and tradition rather than evidence-based knowledge. The earlier chapters in the book integrate physiological and immunological knowledge with historical and current perspectives on temperature measurements and temperature measurement technology. The scenarios will bring all these insights together.
