Chapter 14 in The Viability of Organizations Vol. 3, 2020, pp 217-241 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter finally turns to the design of organizational chart structures. It describes in-depth the way to develop them and which choices need to be made along this process. It discusses the formation of hybrid organizations (i.e., organizations with multiple structuring logics), how to find the right holding structure and the role of subsidiaries in light of the VSM. This chapter concludes by returning to the “right wing” of organizations and describes how organizations can establish a holistic perspective both across the organization’s corporate functions and vertically across its recursion levels.
