Chapter Chapter 3 in Procurement 4.0 and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, 2020, pp 53-116 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Procurement 4.0 can be seen as a fundamentally digital transformation. It has various components: processes, platforms, persons, and partnerships. In fact, process transformation is one of its key performance indicators. Processes are at the very base of procurement 4.0 and are strongly impacted by any changes it entails; so, re-engineering is a critical success factor here. This chapter considers some of the more critical processes involved, such as risk management. The chapter analyzes in detail procurement process intelligence, which combines business intelligence and action on processes. The chapter also considers risk management processes and shows how resilience is the real way to manage risks inherent in various processes. The final part of the chapter is dedicated to finance processes and their relevance for overcoming many challenges, which can be especially severe for small and medium-sized organizations.
