Duncan Angwin

Chapter Chapter 8 in Mergers and Acquisitions, 2020, pp 193-198 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter assesses the state of the art in the M&A field and identifies risks in disciplinary silos and missing focus on important aspects of the phenomenon. It also outlines how umbrella constructs serve to open the door to further critical work on other general constructs in the field. It reiterates the issue of comparability of research findings and points to the practical importance of umbrella constructs to achieve a better understanding of how real-world works. Problem-driven umbrella constructs can be strengthened through academic research.
