Chapter 2 in Six Sigma for Students, 2020, pp 41-51 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Constantly changing managerial and organizational needs of businesses affect the organizational performance at the bottom line. Prior to implementing new practices in business organizations, decision-makers need to make sure that the organizational modifications are successfully done and that the organizational structure is ready to initiate new practices. Without preparing the organizational structure to meet the needs and requirements of the new practices, immediately starting Six Sigma projects may bring unexpected obstacles and issues, as were experienced in Western organizations in the past. Before starting the Six Sigma journey, the top executives need to make sure that the organizational structure is ready for Six Sigma practices. Therefore, this chapter focuses on the needed organizational structure for Six Sigma that should increase success.
