Abstract:
Abstract This chapter examines seven old tools, seven new tools, and other tools to solve problems, analyze, and visualize the data used in Six Sigma teams. The seven old tools are check sheets, histograms, fishbone diagrams – cause-and-effect diagrams, Pareto analysis and diagrams, scatter diagrams, stratification analysis, and control charts. The seven new tools are affinity diagrams, systematic diagrams, arrow diagrams, relationships diagrams, matrix diagrams, matrix data analysis, and process decision program charts. The other tools are brainstorming, 5 Whys analysis, Gantt charts, dot plots, run charts, box-and-whisker plots, probability plots, bar charts, line graphs, and stem-and-leaf plots.
