Chapter Chapter 1 in Building Sustainable Cities, 2020, pp 3-14 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract People and families are the main nucleus of society and their optimal functioning ensures that cities, countries, and finally the world move towards social, environmental, economic, and cultural growth. Consequently, governments need to plan and manage bearing in mind the well-being of families and individuals. But we are far from achieving sustainability, and examining what is happening in the world in relation to the lives of individuals can be instructive.
